I've used this product at least 50 nights as a 3 season shelter. The door is a funky design, so I sewed it shut and sealed...now, you have to crawl under it to enter. It can be pitched low for bad weather or higher if conditions look better, paying attention to prevailing weather, etc. It keeps me dry and total weight with stakes and ground cloth is less than 1.5 pounds.

The SIL Tarp Tent offered plenty of room for myself and my winter gear on a snow-filled 5-day backpacking trip in NC/TN Appalachian Trail. The door closes by staking one flap over the other. Trying to get out in the middle of the night to go to the rest room with the stakes covered with snow made it cumbersome to operate. I ended up just crawling out the side or end once it was staked down - not the most convenient entry/exit when it's wet, cold, frozen or a mixture of the three.
While a minimalist, I sold this tent and got a Black Diamond Mega Light which is worth the three pounds in order to have a zipped entry and will accommodate three people and gear comfortably, and is palatial for one.

I used this shelter for the first time and it withstood a Texas rain/hail storm. The door flaps are a bit awkward so I staked then out to a point along with a guyline from the peak of the tent. I used shock-cords to overlap the door flaps at the mid-fap tie points to the stakes at the opposite corners. This helped create a water proof seal at the door. The only thing I would add is 2 additional stakes at the midpoints of either side for more wind resistance. The tie-down loops are there but the additional stakes to not come with the tent.
