the kickstand is advertized as fitting 12" to 27" bikes. after installing on my son's 16" diameter wheel bike at the shortest setting, the bike was still pushing past vertical. i removed the outer sleeve that adjusts for height so it was leaning on the core (absolute shortest length possible without cutting) and the bike barely stood shy of vertical - the lightest breeze / sneeze would topple the bike.

maybe the sizing is incorrect, or maybe it is the style of bike that puts the kickstand mount lower (HotRock Specialized Spider) than a standard kids bike. either way, i was really bummed and disappointed. now i have to return it and look for an alternative.

We bought one of these about 6 months ago, slapped it on my son's 12" bike, and he rode away. No hacksaw, piece of cake. We've never had a problem with it, although maybe we'll check the screw when we put it on a bigger bike. We're getting two more of these now, since we accidentally left the kids' old kickstands in a different state.

This kickstand fit my son's 16 and 20 inch bikes and is easy to adjust however screw came loose very often, and eventually fell out while he was riding and we never found it. Now we need to find a replacement stand.

This kickstand did not fit our 12 inch bike. We even took it to the bike shop at REI, and the bike specialists could not get it to fit either. He did not understand why it claims to work on 12 inch bikes.
