I agree with all the good reviews on this tool. It is a great design without all the extras. However, I have returned one and will soon return another due to the scissors binding. I assume this is some temporary manufacturing flaw that is not present on all Juice S2's. I also bought the Juice CS4 and the scissors are super smooth. I hope Leatherman fixes this flaw so I can get an S2!

I keep my Juice S2 in my pocket and find it very handy without being bulky to carry. It has a nice selection of tools. I've used all the tools, but I haven't found myself wishing for a tool that's not on it. The scissors work well, and the blade is sharp. You have to open the bottle/can opener to get the scissors out, but that's not a big deal. A really nice tool without any fluff items I don't need. The only negative is I wish the blade would lock.

I wear a suit almost daily, and keep this in my back pocket at all times, even when I'm home- I cannot leave home without it! The only thing I wish it could do is that the blade or other items would lock in place. This is my second one, I LOVE IT

I've used the Juice S2 for several years now. It is the perfect size, small enough to carry in a pocket while backpacking but just large enough to tackle robust jobs like fixing oars on wilderness river trips. On the Juice, there isn't a single wasted tool--I find myself using all of the tools and not wishing for a tool that isn't there (there is no corkscrew, but I don't count of the Juice to do this job). I own 6 other multitools, but the Juice has relegated them to the tool box or emergency kits.

This is a great little multi-tool. I received it as a Christmas gift a few years ago and it has served me well since. I don't carry it around every day as I have a small pocket knife that takes that job. However, I NEVER go on a camping or hiking trip without this thing. The blade keeps a nice edge and the scissors are great; although, like some have also said, they do tend to gum up depending on what you're cutting. All in all it's a great tool and I'd definitely recommend it!

Other than the can opener, I manage to get a lot of use from most parts of this knife. The pliers are very sturdy, and the wire cutter part comes in way more handy than I ever thought it would. The scissors tend to stick with the tiniest amount of goo they pick up from cutting anything with adhesive, but they are larger than most multi-tool scissors and easier to use.

My big complaint with this device, is that there seems to be a lot of pointless metal adding weight to it... and I often don't carry it backpacking because it has crossed a threshold of usefulness vs weight. Actually, I can carry a lot of light almost full sized versions of everything this multi-tool has and get a considerable weight savings.

Oh well, I don't think they designed it with backpacking in mind, so I can blame them for not wanting to shave off every pointless gram they can.

I spent two years as an LDS missionary in albania. When I first arrived my apartment had 0 tools! and many things that needed fixing. I got this tool as a gift from home for christmas. It quickly fixed everything in my house, won my heart, and found a place daily in my pocket! I used it daily! From popping soda tops, opening tuna cans, or slicing open those wonderful packages from home! It does everything you need around the house and out and about! People constantly borrowed it too, now that I'm home he keeps making himself useful in my car.

Once however, I came close to snapping off the screwdriver on a heavy srew...be careful!!

I wanted a multitool specifically for hiking and camping out of a backpack. I spent quite a while shopping for one that had the few things I need without a whole bunch of things that I don't need. My requirements are very minimalist. I need:

1. A pair of pliers. Early last summer my buddy had a zipper blowout on his backpack. It required both his and my pliers to get the teeth lined back up so he could close the zipper. A pair of pliers is a must. One minor issue with these. When I'm squeezing down on the pliers, there's the tiniest bit of flex in the tool that I'm a little concerned about. I worry that one day when I'm really bearing down on something with the pliers, it's gonna break.

2. A pair of scissors. For opening freeze-dried meals, mostly. But also if I need to cut bandages. For certain tasks a knife doesn't work as well as a pair of scissors. I like the scissors on this. I like the feel on the thumb. The blades are a nice size.

3. A good sharp knife that's not too big and not too small. For a large knife I'll carry a separate large knife. This one is a little larger than a paring knife. It locks open so I know it's not going to fold when I'm using it.

Aside from those three things, I don't really need much else. Here's some thoughts on the other gadgets:

A can opener is okay to have, but not really necessary. When I hike into the back country of Yellowstone I'm not lugging cans of food, I'm carrying lighter dehydrated or freeze dried food. I suppose I could picture going on a day hike and stuffing a can of chili into my pack, in which case a can opener would be useful.

I'm trying to think if any of the camping or hiking gear I have has screws of any kind. The screwdrivers are pretty small and take up little space, so it's not bothersome to have them there.

This tool does NOT have: a file (I don't need it), tweezers (I have a good pair in my emergency kit, don't need an extra), a toothpick (I can whittle one with the knife), extra knives (I just need the one).

This isn't quite the perfect hiking/camping/backpacking multitool, but it's the closest I've been able to find. The real trick was finding a multi tool that had both pliers AND scissors, without having 20 other things on it. Take a look for yourself. Look at all the multitools that have both pliers and scissors and see how many extra gadgets they have.

This is a cool little tool
