The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
I tried going without a fairing for exactly 10 minutes. [...] Wind noise is drastically reduced, but don't expect perfect silence. I mean, seriously, there's still a rack up there, and there will still be wind drag. Unfortunately, the rack no longer drowns out the noise of my nagging girlfriend.I can't say for sure whether or not it makes a significant difference in fuel efficiency, but it sure makes a difference in "my car looks way cooler" efficiency.

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
The fairing did an excellent job of reducing wind noise, but I found that after I installed it on my civic my gas mileage went down about 5 MPG, which on a long trip can make quite a difference. I've always heard fairings improve gas mileage so I didn't think it was the fairing at first, but after a friend mentioned it to me I removed the fairing while filling up on a long trip, and my next tank of gas was back to normal mileage. I'm putting up with the noise, which isn't that bad, to save 50 miles (aka $8 this summer) per tank.

At first I was hesitant to shell out the [$] for this fairing, but after reading other reviews I decided it was worthwhile. My rack was terribly noisy with the roof open, not anymore. This thing really improves the noise level drastically and looks pretty sweet too.By the way the 38" fits Jetta IV.

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
I honestly thought I could get away with not adding a fairing on my SUV after installing my rack system, but after hearing the noise through my open sun roof I broke down and purchased one. It made a BIG difference. Like another reviewer mentioned, the noise doesn't go away 100%, but it's a vast improvement. Believe me, it's worth it and it looks great.

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
Mine recently got stolen and I really wish that I had known that it was lockable, but perhaps this wasn't the case when I originally purchased it about five years ago. I live in an affluent neighborhood, but my street carries a lot of cross-traffic and some spooky grifter-esque folks. That ease of installation also makes for quick ease of theft, so I strongly advise springing for the lock cores. I am now out of [$] that I would have rather used elsewhere!

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
Simply put...it does the job. Significantely reduces wind noise and drag, and also has plenty of space to put stickers of all the places you travel too. Wouldn't have a rack without one...must have!

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
On a trip to Florida I barely heard a thing and didn't see any reduction in gas mileage. Be sure to use the Yakima sizing utility to confirm the right size, though. Simple, effective design.
My only quibble: The adhesive car protector tabs that go under the fairing's foam feet are hard to place _just right_. Could have been my technique, though.

Good construction, easy to install. Don't know if it allows better gas-mileage or whatever, but looks great!

Comments about Yakima Fairing - Standard Sizes:
I've used a number of different rack setups on past cars, and I'd definitely recommend this Yakima fairing as an add-on to your setup. It greatly cut down on wind noise/whistle when I recently bought a setup for my new car. It's stable, does it's job well, fits perfectly based on the size in the fit guide, and I haven't noticed much of a drop in mpg (without bikes on board). It's pretty easy to install, the only tricky part was getting the little rubber sticker pads to line up correctly, and it adds some sticker space!
