Comments about Time ATAC Cleats:

After growing up on SPD's (shimano pedaling dynamics) in the nineties I switched to Time pedals for the new millennium. I found Time's system easier to clip into, and rarely had issues with unclipping. Even tightened all the way down, my SPD's sometimes had a tendency to slide out although some would argue my pedaling technique is flawed. Time pedals are not adjustable but it doesn't matter. Fewer unplanned unclips equals fewer trail sales.
Likewise, mud has yet to affect the performance of my Times, unlike my SPDs, which sometimes collected enough muck in the pedal as to make clipping in almost impossible. Some argue Time's are better for the knees (more float) but I haven't noticed any difference. Although I use Time for road and Mountain biking, I do continue to use SPD’s for commuting because Time does not, at this time, offer a flats-on-one-side/cleats-on-the-other pedal.
Other than that, my major reservation with Time cleats is eventually the soft metal has a tendency to wear down and at a much faster rate than SPD cleats. That said, I managed to ride from Dallas to Fairbanks one summer on a single pair of Time. At the end of almost 5,000 miles, the cleats were retired. I've heard that egg beaters suffer the same shortcoming.
