        This book was laugh out loud funny. It also offered a healthy reality check for those of us who occassionally fantasize about taking a life sabatical and doing the AT. Maybe I will just live this one vicariously...

              Comments about Walk in the Woods:

              A Walk in the Woods is almost a great book. Bryson writes a very amusing and entertaining account of his time on the AP Trail for most of the book but at times goes into natural history and side stories which are not nearly as fun to read. It seemed like he needed filler since he wasn’t able to complete the hike. He also seemed to go out of his way to make the AP Trail sound more dangerous than it is. It’s a great read if you just skim over some of the filler.
