      Mountain House Meals are the best tasting camping meals that I've tried. They are simple and tasty. They are easy to make. You just heat some water, pour it in the pouch it comes in, close the pouch, and let it sit. Then you can eat it right out of the bag. There's no actual cooking or clean up. All you need to do is heat water which is great after a long day on the trail. Plus you don't have to carry any other ingredients. They are leightweight and easy to pack. They have a long shelflife. We even keep them on hand at home for emergency food. The lasagna and beef stew are our favorite varieties.

        It's not the most inventive flavor ever, but we look forward to the tasty, predictable flavor of the veggie lasagna. There aren't a ton of veggie options, and this has a nice flavor and is fairly filling.

        Make sure to mix it well, and get at the bottom corners, and allow extra cook time at higher elev. It tastes much better if fully cooked and properly mixed.

        It's not a full meal for 2 people, we usually supplement with granola, or pbj in addition to sharing 1 meal.

          First time trying the Mountain House brand, and was happy with the results. Cooking time is fairly short (a big win for tired and hungry campers).

          Pouch held fast when pouring hot water into it, and it felt very stable. After cooling for 10 minutes we added a touch of our own spices, but would have been content with it straight out of the pouch.

              I've yet to be disappointed by a Mountain House meal. Highly recommend them over others I've tried. Favorites are Mac and Cheese, Chili Mac, and Lasagna.
