        Comments about Lodge Lid Lifter:

        It will lift a coal-covered dutch oven lid without too many problems. You must lift the lid a certain way and/or tilt in a direction opposite of the hook that goes under the lid. I have a 22" Camp Chef lid lifter that works much better...it is much more stable and the handle design of the Camp Chef model makes it easier to hold on to for longer periods of time in case you are stirring or adjusting coals.

          As much as I intend to take ONLY what I need when out camping, this little gem is great. 1st time out and I can't believe we did without for so long. I bet a few more uses for this tool will present themselves after we have it out on a few more adventures.
