The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about SmartWool Light Hiking Socks- Kids':
We own 4 pairs of the these socks, and for my 5 year old (size 12) the fit, performance, and warmth is awesome.
On cold winter school days, my daughter prefers wearing these with regular street shoes for better breathability. This allows us to save the winter boots for sub-freezing or sloppy weather.
ONE BIG CAVEAT, for putting Smartwool socks on your Toddler though:
I don't know who designed the last for Smartwool's XS kids' sock, but we've had major fit problems with them on over 4 different models. Our 2 year-old is a very standard size 7.5, C-width, but Smartwool's XS sized socks are always WAY too wide in the forefoot. You can pinch 1/4-3/8" of loose material next to her toes (i.e. over 1/2" excess measured around the circumference of the foot).
Just for the sake of comparison, we had our 5-year try the XS socks on her size 12 foot, and they still fit wide in the forefoot.
NOTE TO SMARTWOOL: the Kids' XS last needs a SERIOUS overhaul.
For size S on up though, these socks are a winner.
