I give the clips three stars. Actually , they probably deserve more, as they were the best part of my yakima rack system. However, I disliked the rest of my yakima rack system. See my reviews under Q towers or 58" cross bars.

On the positive side. The clips come with little vinyl stickers to keep your car from getting scratched were the clips meet the car. THEY WORK GREAT. Attach the stickers to the clips. However, now that I've taken the rack on/off about 5 times, I do question how much more life these stickers hold. Other parts of the rack system and the kayak rack I purchased have scratched my car elsewhere... but no scratches where the clips connect!

On the negative side: Price. Seems like a lot for these little guys, although they are a pretty critical part of the whole system.

I bought a used car and the seller gave me the Yakima rack. I then sold that car kept the rack and bought something different. I was excited at the thought that I would not have to buy another rack. That being said, the existing q towers didn't fit the new car, so off to buy Yakima parts. By the time I got it to fit, I was already $200 in parts, I could have purchased a new rack for $30 dollars more, but my money was dumped down the "rabbit hole"! Sure the parts are of high quality, but you pay a pretty penny for them. My suggestion do your research and don't lose parts or you'll pay dearly.

I purchased the Q-clips with a full rack set-up for my Honda Fit in the spring. The Q-clips have only a rubberized sticker to protect your car from the metal. First time out with the rack, the stickers slipped and scratched my car. I've since gained scratches on 3/4 door jams. So incredibly irritated with Yakima's decision to go with a STICKER that slips instead of coating the clips with rubber to protect your car. This was a hefty purchase for me, and I can't believe that with all of that money, what I got was new scratches on my car. Rack itself seems sturdy so I don't understand why they couldn't design/manufacture a decent, durable clip to go with it.

These fit well, but the rubber feet don't last long if you leave your car parked under the sun for extended periods of time. My first set lasted 3-4 years, plus when the rubber started to deteriorate it left marks on my car finish.
