Comments about Richmoor Natural High Cheese Enchilada Ranchero:

Me and friend took this meal to Gregory's bald in the smokies. We were late getting on the trail and had to hike in the dark. By the time we got to the top it was freezing and there was an ice storm outside. So we threw up our tent and huddeled inside to get warm. We excitedly pulled out the food to fix something hot! After a little debate we decided on this meal to eat. It was easy to fix and didn't take a long time but when I took the first bite I almost gagged. I looked at my friend and he was doing the same. We tried to force down as much as we could but after three or fours spoon fulls we couldn't take anymore. What were we to do: We had a lot of food left and were in bear country. So we went outside in our underwear in the ice storm, wandered away from camp in the dark, dug a hole and burried the stuff, then peed on top to further hide the smell. So I can say I would rather walk through an ice storm in my underwear than eat this stuff and also that it was so bad I had to pee on it.

Comments about Richmoor Natural High Cheese Enchilada Ranchero:

Firstly, I LOATHE dehydrated meals. They are too expensive and I have found most of them to be loaded with sodium and having very few vegetarian choices-so I make my own. However, my friend had this particular meal on our trip in Isle Royale and had me try it. Much to my suprise...I liked it. A lot. It wasnt too salty, had just the right amount of spice in the sauce, the rice hydrated nicely and a there was a pleasant "crunch factor" with the tortilla bites. Her review was "Holy [expletive]! This is so good I would buy it for home!" Our hiking partners tried it then continued eating their Mountain Houses with disdain. The serving was good for 2 sharing, or 1 hungry hiker.
I have no idea what the previous reviewer was on about. Though I may not be an avid dehydrated food buyer, I liked this meal and it made me curious to try others. I'd definitely buy this one if I were to buy any.
