Comments about REI Lightweight MTS Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
I use this as a layering system when it gets cold or rainy on my bicycle commute to work. If it's just rainy, I'll use this on it's own, underneath my Gore-tex Paclite shell. Keeps me from getting too sweaty, and from getting that clammy feeling with Paclite on bare skin. If it's cold, I'll use the Midweight MTS under the shell. Real cold, lightweight MTS with some insulation. Bicycle commuting gets real hot & sweaty if you have too much insulation, but this keeps things in check.

I used this as a base layer while snow shoeing. It is great at getting sweat away from you skin, and is pretty warm

Comments about REI Lightweight MTS Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
I purchased the REI product to save money. I use the jersey as a "base" for cool/cold weather bicycle riding. Thus far, I am happy with it's feel, comfort and wicking.

I am a truck driver and I use this shirt underneath my work shirt. I sweat like a pig (pardon the expression) sometimes and yet this shirt keeps me dry (go figure). It fits like a glove and is so comfortable. I wear it every week. Thanks REI

Comments about REI Lightweight MTS Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
I figured this would do just as well as a tech T-Shirt while backpacking in the high Sierras in the summer. After all, it wicks away sweat and dries quickly, and has adequate sun protection. What more is needed?
Well, a little more. A lot of velcro is used in backpacking gear, and if you simply graze this fabric with the 'hook' side of velcro you'll get nasty snags. If that nasty aesthetic bothers you, use it as an under layer or get a different shirt.
It also isn't thick enough to keep mosquitoes from biting through it, but that really wasn't expected.
