Comments about Castelli Compatto Lite Bike Jacket - Men's - 2012 Closeout:
I ordered a size large and it is good enough that I could slip a base layer under if ever need be. The jacket has good length and covers the torso well. It is, however, close fitting enough that there isn't a whole lot for the wind to grab. That's a good thing. The material is light, similar to what lightweight tents are made of. The fabric is strong and the zippers look sturdy, making this a product that appears should last for years with proper care. My only complaint is there is no pocket in the back like most bicycle jerseys. So if you've got stuff with you (extra tube, tools, etc.) you best better have one of those little pouches that straps under the seat. Also, the front pocket (for a cell or cash), can get weighed down when leaning forward. This may or may not bother some people but I wanted to mention it. My final complaint is there aren't any extra zippers or areas to vent air through. The front zipper is the only zipper to allow heat to go out of. Cracking that open, the coat puffs up a bit but not to the point its annoying. I rode this in 50 degree weather with plenty of wind. I had nothing under. I still overheated. So if you're warm blooded wait for colder temps to put this on. The blue is a good, visible color and perfect alternative to that neon yellow.
Feels true to size
Feels true to length
