No Quality IssuesI had read about quality issues on pervious years of Jones snowboards. But this year their boards are all built at the GST factory in Austria and they have supposedly tightened the quality control. After reading the other review I hesitated in buying the Solution. However with REI's awesome return policy, I figured I would see for myself. I was not disappointed, the quality is spot on and it's going to be a sweet setup with the Spark Telsa bindings.

2011/2012 Jones Solution SplitboardThe craftsmanship on the Jeromy Jones Solution reminded me of something an unskilled high schooler would put out for a wood shop project. There were more fingerjoints in a core than I've ever seen. The VDS dampening material was poorly aligned side to side, off by more than 3/8" of an inch. The magna traction didn't merry up to each other. I'd be embarrassed to have my name attached to this board, which is a shame considering Jeromy's contribution to the sport. I emailed Josh Clements @ Jones not looking for a new board, just wanted to see what his response would be, and he was in total defense of there boards. Split boards that stand out in my opinion are Venture, they use full length wood cores, and stand the test of time, Prior hand made in Canada, and Lib Tech's made in WA State are all awesome boards

Pretty GoodWas hesitant about this board, I heard about previous year's QC issues, as everyone else has stated, but I am glad I pulled the trigger and got it. The magna-traction lines up perfectly on the board in ride mode and helps dig into skin tracks in tour mode. There's enough camber underfoot to help out on icy skin tracks, which is very welcome. The rockered nose floats above soft snow and crust, even with my stance set forward. It's got a lot of pop, but isn't as forgiving as some other boards (like my Venture). I've put about 40 days on this board this season doing wildlife field work in Colorado and put another 30 or 40 days on my Venture Zelix when conditions are a little more fun. The Solution cuts through the crud, feels stable, charges hard and above all is rugged. It sees lots of abuse during the course of our daily work and the topsheet and sidewalls have stayed strong, no delamination like on my K2 Panoramic. The edges have been rocked hard on thin talus slopes and an incident with some old mine building debris under the snow, but nothing pulling out of the sidewalls even with shots to the core along them. Also, this board is ridiculously fast, it wants to haul balls all the time, which is usually wicked fun, sometimes a little scary. Only problem is that the Karakoram clips get floppy after a bunch of use. While I'm touring they smack back and forth and dig into the side of the skin track. Irritating, but not a serious flaw. I've been playing with the stance over the season and moved it forward a bit, so it's almost centered on the board (about 5-10mm of setback) instead of the setback the board is set up for (35mm) and that makes for a really fun ride and more stability when landing.

backcountry splitboarder from
Nidecker meets Jones! There is a reason you see this deck as the staple deck for rent in places like the Backcountry in Truckee, and why TONS of people are riding cam rock now.
I've been riding Nidecker's cam rock from day one, loving the mega and ultra light SO much. I thought of trying to make a split board out of one, which has been done to the mega light with it's wood core, BUT, that's a very thin deck to do that to, and it's WAY better to just buy the Jones solution split.
I LOVE to ride banana, and all the new variations of it are interesting, and I think C2 by Lib tech is the best split for powder, BUT, if you where going to climb mount Shasta, or any long B/C with unknown possible icy conditions, etc., the SOLUTION is the deck I pick for that for stomping all conditions, and the overall GREAT performance of the ride.
I can't fathom any extremely negative reviews of this fantastic deck?.could it be?..jealousy of Jeremy?
