I have always wanted a Patagonia Synchilla product due to their great quality and warmth. I was lucky to get this item on sale and am very happy with my purchase. When I put it on right after purchase I noticed a lot of black lint, but after using a lint roller everything is fine.
I was concerned with buying this without trying it on because I had heard that this particular style of Patagonia item was a large fit, but I sized down and am very happy. I am 5'9" and 150 pounds, skinny/athletic build and I usually wear a medium in most products, but the small fits me great.
I had my wife sew in a zipper pocket in the pouch to hold any loose items I might have with me.

I did not have a synthetic layer, all of my base and mid layers were wool. Most of my technical clothing is lightweight and while this doesn't really fit in that category, it for the moment is a welcome addition to my gear.
5'6 fairly athletic build, 150 pounds and the medium fits loose, and comfortable.
I would second the comment that washing more than once before wearing is.advisable to avoid the "fuzziness". I washed mine once, wore it camping and the next time I wore a white shirt, looked down and noticed what I thought were stains in the shirt. Actually, fibers transferred from the synchilla to my seat belt and to my shirt. First synthetic article, so really can't compare, but so far have not been disappointed.

I purchased this as an around the house on chilly days shirt. It is very soft and very comfortable. I usually wear an XL in Patagonia items, but this seemed to be equivalent to an XXl, but since it is for relaxing around the house no big deal. After one wash there was no shrinkage, really like the sweater.
