Comments about Patagonia Lightweight Travel Tote - 2012 Closeout:
This is a very convenient, super-lightweight bag. It's great because it has tote handles as well as backpack straps when you need to have two hands free. It has an internal zipper pocket when you need to keep small things a little more secure. (It will hold an iPhone, small wallet, and pack of tissues.) The back is lightly padded.
The only problem is that since this is a lightweight bag made of ripstop nylon, the bag has no structure whatsover and no padding on the bottom. Keep that in mind when carrying things that need a little cushioning. I will put a towel or jacket at the bottom of the bag if I decide to carry my DSLR in it and make sure I always set it down gently.
The tote shown in the picture is fully stuffed. It will not stand up at all as shown, unless you put something inside that will make it stand up. It's great to pick up on sale. Not sure that I would pay full price for it. Minus one star for have only slightly more structure than a plastic grocery bag, but that's the tradeoff for the weight and packability for travel.
