The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin Oregon 600 GPS:
I have used several Garmin products over the years, the most recent being the 60Csx that is also a great gps. However, the Oregon has improved in many ways over my 60Csx by adding 24 more (Russian)satellites, higher resolution, quicker processor, easier to see in the bright son, smaller, and customizable to just the features you want to use to the exclusion of others.
As most other products these days, the instructions are pretty bare and that includes their PDF for the User Manual. I had to call their technical support twice (quick response each time) and each rep. had to also learn about this unit since it is so new. I'm finding the Utubes helpful in learning about menu setups.
Overall, I am very pleased this this product and think that its the best GPS I have used so far.

Comments about Garmin Oregon 600 GPS:
Some background: I had a Garmin Montana that was great, but had been shutting off randomly since day one. When I went to get it replaced, there were no Montanas in store. This was a disappointment, only until I asked to take a look at the Oregon 600, a unit that was unfamiliar to me. 10 seconds after turning it on, it hit me - this is a smaller, more refined version of the Montana.
Same interface, but whereas the Montana was slow and jumpy when scrolling, the Oregon was smooth and accurate. The Screen, while smaller; appears to have a higher pixel density, so the picture looks sharper, as well as brighter. The touchscreen worked better as well, and with a quick test I found it does work well with light (3mm) neoprene gloves. For the sake of this review, I even pulled the thick ski gloves out of the winter closet and took it for a spin - and while it's only practical to use your thumb and you might make a few mistakes, it does work. Perhaps best is the ergonomics, this can be used easily with one hand- even with ski gloves. For the Montana, that was a challenge, as well as getting it into pockets..
With WAAS, EGNOS, and GLONASS, you can't ask for much more accuracy and speed of acquisition in a consumer device. EGNOS is nice, if you plan to use the unit in Europe, but GLONASS and GPS together will be beneficial everywhere.
Downsides of the Oregon? No external antennae mount, so this is not a good unit to mount below deck in a boat, otherwise you generally should not need one. No speaker, so no turn by turn directions. Does not come with rechargeables, but is compatible with several types of rechargeable AA's. Half the internal memory, but does have a microsd slot allowing you to add 16gb (or more? only tried a 16gb). And the rated battery life is less, sort of. Montana is rated 16/22 hours, the Oregon 600 is rated just 16. Given the Oregon has an LED backlit display, whereas the Montana uses an old school cathode backlit screen, I would be willing to bet battery life won't be too dissimilar.
Overall, this is really just a refined and miniaturized version of the Montana. All the quirks and and things about the Montana that annoyed me had become things I was willing to deal with for the sake of the unit's features. Now, I feel like I'm using the second generation, and most of the problems have been ironed out. If I were to walk into a store today, I see few reasons why the Montana would be a better choice- for now.
