I was in search of a soft shell jacket to wear cross country skiing and after doing a fair amount of research and trying on jackets, decided on the Apex. It is wind proof and made of a comfortable fabric. I like the somewhat tailored fit, but the shoulders are a tad snug on me. I think this jacket runs pretty true to size, but I happen to have broad shoulders. I am 5'5" and weigh 145#. The jacket fits well other than the shoulders. I think it is a well made jacket that does what it is designed to do; comfortable, soft shell that is wind resistant.

I normally wear an XS in the TNF fleece jackets and shells, but those are a bit looser-fitting than this soft shell (my first soft shell). I got it in an XS (way way way too tight, particularly in the chest and I'm not that big) but the sleeves were the right length. In the S, it fit well through the body, but the sleeves were about 1" too long (hitting the knuckle). Perhaps I can dispense with gloves when wearing this jacket? I love the fabric and fit otherwise (super warm, only a thermal layer required underneath) and the pink ribbon makes it unique from all the other TNF jackets out there!
