Comments about SmartWool Granite Creek Crew Sweater - Men's - 2012 Closeout:
I recently moved to the mountains of San Diego county. Looking for some warm quality clothing I went to REI. This sweater is very warm but started pilling within the first couple of weeks after my purchase. Haven't taken the time to see about a replacement at the store but if the next one is going to be the same, why bother. It is very warm though and does serve its purpose in that regard.

Comments about SmartWool Granite Creek Crew Sweater - Men's - 2012 Closeout:
These Smartwool sweaters are quite nice and warm. I bought two of these and like the color and thickness. Not too thick and bulky but not too wispy and cold. You can easily wear a long-sleeve shirt underneath and a coat on top and you don't feel like the Michelin man.
My only complaint is that the wool was pilling up before the first washing especially around the forearms. The sweater had a sort of fuzzy look to it by the third or fourth time I wore it. This was before I washed it. I suppose I could get rid of the pills with a remover but I have other wool sweaters that don't seem to have this problem.
