Comments about Gibbon Single Hammock - 2012 Closeout:
I'm a hammock fan, and a full-time indoor hanger. I sleep in a Brazilian double on a stand indoors every night instead of a mattress.
I'd been looking for a parachute nylon hammock that I could take day-hiking, to the park etc, but I didn't really want to spend almost a hundred bucks on the whole setup (once you buy the suspension) for something like an ENO. I came across this on the outlet site and knew it would be perfect.
It has quality triple-stitched seams and includes some of Gibbon's webbing and two strong cam buckles to hang it with. The webbing isn't super long, but it works for average trees. The suspension system is dead simple. It goes up in seconds and couldn't be easier. The cam buckles also make it very fast and easy to adjust and dial in your hang. It's also longer and a bit wider than ENO singles (and therefore heavier and bulkier in the stuff sack) so it's quite comfortable for me at 5'3".
I liked it so much I ordered a second one today.
One caveat: the website describes the picture as yellow and the image makes it look that way. Far from being a canary yellow, this hammock is more orange. If you don't mind that, you should just order one already before they're gone!

I bought this hammock for myself because I've been wanting one a for a while now... It feels great and I am quite happy with it.
Set up took me about twenty seconds, which I can live with. I got the orange and black one, and I feel like a yellowjacket... just happily hanging out in my nest. Okay, so maybe that was a weird comment, but either way, I am enjoying the hammock.
Note - I am using it instead of a bed, not as as camping hammock.. but I am sure it'd be nice for that, too.
