    • Functioning like down feathers, the tiny round clusters of ThermoBall spun polyester trap warm air, while softly conforming to your body's shape
    • ThermoBall retains 80% of its insulating power even when dampened by rain, humidity or sweat, so you'll continue to stay warm
    • Small baffles in shell fabric allow insulation to fully expand to retain body heat; highly compressible ThermoBall insulation offers warmth equal to 600-fill-power goose down
    • Tightly-woven nylon shell features square stitching that helps hold insulation in place to keep it evenly distributed; Durable Water Repellent finish repels light moisture
    • Nylon lining wicks sweat off the skin for quick evaporation, helping you stay dry and comfortable
    • Quickly stuff the jacket into its own space-saving, left-hand stow pocket for compact storage
    • Zippered hand pockets; full-length front zipper with internal windflap; stretch-bound cuffs, low-profile drawcord hem
    • The North Face ThermoBall jacket has a standard fit and is machine washable

by fromGreat spring/fall jacket! I have had my eyes on this jacket for a while now. This is my first North Face product. I was introduced to it by a neighbor who had worn it throughout all of last winter. After trying it on, I was completely thrown off by how the jacket was very warm, yet very light for its size. Although it is worth its weight in gold (sorry for that terrible pun), the jacket was a steep buy at $199. I was fortunate to have some dividend funds from shopping at REI last year, plus the 20% coupon. I paid about $138 total. I am 5’ 11”, 190lb, with an athletic build. I like fitted clothing. I picked a medium sized jacket that I found to be the most accommodating for my shoulders, chest, and arm length (34”). One of the things that I nitpick about the jacket is the fact that it is boxy, and not form fitting. On the other hand, I can easily throw on a fleece under it, if the outside temperatures were arctic… I had decided to test its water repelling abilities a few days ago. Although it is not marketed as a waterproof or water-repellent jacket, it kept me dry after 15 minutes in the rain. The jacket is not marketed as windproof either. However, I felt comfortable in the strong winds we had two weeks ago. What I really like is the fact that I can pack it into its pocket as a small pillow-type package that weighs almost nothing. Overall, I think this is a great all-around jacket. I look forward to wearing it on my hikes. What I would really like to see is sealable inside pockets for a cell phone or wallet. I would also like to see the jacket form more fitted than boxy. Other than that, I would definitely buy another one in a different color when another discount coupon rolls around.

by fromGreat Light Jacket I got this on sale and it's a great light insulated jacket. Very wind resistant despite how lightweight it is. I really like it.

by fromget it early before your size is gone A real value, price compared to the quality of materials is excellent. It keeps the warmth even in windy conditions. It is not made as a wind breaker and in extreme wind and cold simply layer a wind breaker or rain/goretex. It is unbelieveably light weight. Many compliments, people in line behind me ask about it. I have had to many heavy and not so warm jackets, glad I found it at REI.

by fromLight Weight, Warm, Packs Small Very lightweight insulating jacket that packs really small. Great jacket for all conditions and will cover the very wet and cold with a shell.

by fromI love this Jacket! I found this jacket this spring on the clearance rack at REI. I had been wanting one all winter, but just never got around to buying one and when I saw it on the clearance rack in my size I couldn't pass it up. This jacket is so light and yet it keeps you warm. It's lighter than my fleece jackets, yet keeps me warmer and is less bulky. I wore it on a recent snowshoeing trip in Rocky Mountain National Park and even with the wind it kept me nice and toasty in the 20 degree weather. It also is very breathable and so I didn't notice it being damp inside the jacket like I normally get with my fleece. I should have bought this sooner. It will be my perfect companion to camping trips especially when the sun goes down in the high country or early in the morning when I'm out photographing a sunrise. I highly recommend this jacket!
