I spend a lot of time on treadmills and other cardio equipment. The sensors on them are mostly OK, but some are pretty bad. When I can get this thing to register a pulse at all, it rarely climbs over 30 or not even half of what it should be reading. I adjusted the straps several tiems to no avail. It simply did not work for me at all.

Everything worked great until I had to replace the battery in the strap the first time at about the two-year point. After that, the monitor would only register about half my heart rate until I got well into my workout. I assumed the strap wasn't making contact so I tried different methods of wetting the contacts, but nothing worked. I tried replacing batteries on both watch and strap and pressing the reset button, but nothing helped. The company web site offered no suggestions and the HRM was out of warranty so it's time to junk it and try another brand. I won't buy another Timex since my wife's popular brand monitor has been working great for many years.
