      Comments about Metolius Dirt Bag II Rope Bag:

      This is a great rope bag for the price. I first bought it mainly because I needed a tarp to flake my rope out onto when I belay. Instead of just getting some cheap 3 mil plastic from a hardware store I decided for this so i could add in a protection factor when I carry it around. It has served me very well so far. It generaly has enough room to put both a 60m rope and a gear rack for sport leading (belay device, quick draws, etc...)into. However it would be a little small if you had to include trad gear or gear for a natural top anchor. I mainly use it for going climbing with freinds on either a single pitch sport climb or a simple slingshot both of wich have a fairly short approach (its kinda awkward to carry with that single strap). For this purpose this bag provides more than ample room. If you were thinking of trad or multi-pitch climbs or had one heck or an approach you may want to consider a bigger bag or something that is more of a backpack. Bottom line if your a weekend warrior then this is the way to go.
