The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Merrell Trail Glove 2 Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I wear the Trail Glove 2's whenever I can. I am pondering about wearing them to work but the office environment can be not very receptive to loud training shoes. These are my go to CrossFit shoes for all movements (I don't wear weight lifting shoes) and I haven't had any major problems. Some minor problems are landing too far on my toes and too hard on my toes coming off pull-ups, toes-to-bar, and box jumps that slightly bruises my first toe joints/ball of my foot.
The lightness of the shoe is great and the ventilation is superb. I had another pair prior that had wind proofing (the Sonic Glove) that living in Texas didn't mix well with. These are the perfect combination of lightness, ventilation, durability, and flexibility in a shoe.
I haven't found much that isn't great about the shoes. The only thing is if the wearer is not prepared for a barefoot-esque feel. The barefoot feel will transmit every rock, stick, and bump you step or jump on directly to your feet. So be mindful of where and how hard you step starting out. Also, the shoe provides little to no stability to your foot and ankle. So again be mindful of where and how you step and probably start off only walking around in them as the muscles in your lower calf and foot are probably accustomed to being atrophied from wearing the super cushioned and super stable shoes.

Comments about Merrell Trail Glove 2 Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I wore these shoes for a week to break them in. I would do a cross fit workout in them once a week. I even took them on a hike. They were great! I was looking to switch out my Five Fingers because little rocks get stuck between my toes when I do my trail runs and I didn't want to stop and fix every time this happened. My first trail run in these shoes gave me blisters on both feet on the inside of my foot near the ball of my foot. It was from the plastic design on the outside of the shoe. I thought it might be just bad luck so I waited two weeks and tried it again. The same thing happened. Too bad, I really liked the shoe.

For me, I definitely need arch support for stepping on sharp rocks at the arch. Smooth surfaces such as dirt, pea gravel, sand no problem. Curiosity, the woman shoes have a thicker tread.

Comments about Merrell Trail Glove 2 Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I replaced the original trail gloves with these. I put the originals in a euro dryer on low and the stupid thing never turned off, so my shoes were ruined. My bad. But I got these, and they are much the same, but improved in small areas. There is a softer material on the inside that covers everything, so it is more comfortable. The removal of a couple of their special lacing system laces makes it less restrictive on the side of the foot, while still maintaining excellent fit and security. That change also allows you to tie it looser and make them a "slip on". Style has been dumbed down a tad, at least for the black version, so less out there, easy to wear everyday.
I use these to trail run, walk, and back packed with 35 pounds easy. Great do it all shoe.
DON'T WORRY, IF YOU LIKED THE ORIGINALS, THEY DIDN'T MUCK THESE UP!
When it is time to replace your old ones, these are great.
Oh, they are lighter, more breathable materials, and dry super quick with no socks, less than 10 minutes of hiking and they are pretty dry.

Always a pleasure, even to APO Europe.

Comments about Merrell Trail Glove 2 Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
Great tactile feel. As you walk or run, you get a sense that your feet are spreading out and your toes are grasping the terrain. These shoes are like ballet slippers as far as ankle support goes; however, I feel less apt to suffer a sprain because appropriate muscles are used for support instead of restrictive shoe design. The only issue I have is the cushioning is minimal in the heel for use on concrete. I have been wearing these for around town and light workouts for about a month. They are very comfortable and almost feel like a foot and ankle massage as you move. Very different feel from traditional shoes. Definitely recommend giving these a try.

Comments about Merrell Trail Glove 2 Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
The first pair had poor QC/QA (missing two eyelets on one shoe) and these have poor traction so I deducted one star, otherwise they are great minimalist shoes. They are good for running (both trail and tarmac) as well as back-up shoes for backpacking as they are lightweight, pack small, and have excellent ventilation (you can feel a breeze through these).

I have used these several times for walking around and even a few road runs. They take a little getting used to (I have an alternate low profile shoe I run in) but once your feet adjust they are like a glove (pun intended)

Comments about Merrell Trail Glove 2 Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
This is my third pair of Trail Gloves, which last me about a year running approximately 50 miles a week on streets and trails. This year's is slightly redesigned with a roomier toe box. Overall this is an excellent barefoot runner -- hard and flexible bottom plate that protects your feet but allows you to feel the ground, lightweight, comfortable, roomy toe box.
