Scarpa Charmoz Pro GTX Mountaineering Boots - Men'sis rated4.5out of5by4.
Rated4out of5byfromI love this bootI went to climb Mount Rainier. I have a pair of Asolo Titans that I've used for 3 years. I have always struggled with that boot. We were in Seattle a few days early so we spent time checking fit of products that aren't on the shelves in Boise. I was very impressed with the fit and feel of this boot for approaches and 3 season crampon work. They flex a little. Not good if you need a totally stiff sole. But they don't flex too much so they still adapt readily to crampon use. Anyway, they just felt good so I bought them to start breaking in. I figured I could use them later in the year. I wore them all the next day as we packed gear, got our passes at the ranger lodge, etc. They felt so good that I realized they would work better for me than my three year old Titans. I did the unthinkable. I wore them to the top of Mount Rainier after having bought them two days prior to the climb. They were a little cold but that was to be expected. They did very well. Other climbers were wearing double plastic and more insulated single boots. I am blown away that I had no blisters or hot spots. I will keep all my toe nails. (I used smart wool sock liners and smart wool mountaineering socks. Also replaced stock boot liner with a "SOLE" liner as in all my shoes) This boot totally blew me away. I only gave it 4 stars because since it is so new I don't know how well it will last. Conditions on the mountain ranged from slush to snow so hard that it squeaked to walk on. They stayed dry and did what I asked them to do. I used Grivel G12 crampons. I'm 220 pounds and with full pack, clothing and gear about 290 pounds. 240 or so for the summit. I ask a lot of my boots and this one really surprised me. I think if this boot fits your feet, it is a great choice for approaches and 14,000 foot peaks in three seasons.

Rated5out of5byfromLove these boots! These fit well out of the box. Wide heel, and great adjustability in the lacing. Stiff enough for most alpine adventures, but too cold and flexible for serious ice.

Rated4out of5byfromVery ComfortableThis was not the brand I intended to buy when entering the store. I purchased them because they were a close out and the price was VERY appealing. I must admit I am very impressed with the boot. It was very comfortable from the first hike. I have only worn it three times but so far, I would recommend it very much.

Rated5out of5byfromGreat for high volume feetI haven't tested them in the field yet and will update when I do but I wanted to leave a review because I'm so happy I found a light mountaineering boot that fit! I have 14/15, wide feet and after searching for several months I was unable to find a boot that fit. These came out recently and I was releived to try them on and find that they fit. I actually tried the 48 first and ended up purchasing the 47.
