Comments about The North Face Ashbury Softshell Jacket - Men's:

I tried this jacket on and really wanted it to work for me but I had to return it. I am 6' 200-lbs, Size Large most always fits me perfectly.

I tried on both sizes L & XL. Large felt tight in the shoulders and although XL had a more "roomy" fit, it looked like a trashbag on me. Way too baggy for my liking & the neck was too loose.

So, back to size Large. The fit was perfect along my mid-section & my neck. The material feels GREAT but there was just not enough room in the shoulder area.
Crossing my arms & reaching upwards caused the sleeves to pull back exposing my wrists. The material is stretchy so there is some play to it when moving around, just not enough for my liking.

Other areas to note:
-Pockets are aplenty, easy-to-use zippers.
-No pockets on the inside as noted in item specifics.
-There is a cinch cord in the lower hem that is adjustable on both sides. I was hoping this feature would have been the type that is accessible through the front pockets but it is what it is & does not affect my star-rating.
-The material is water/wind -resistant (REI's "stats" page does not list it as either).
-The hood is removable by zipper, easy on & off.
-Collar gave a "popped" look when the hood was removed, a style that I can not pull off. Since the collar is entirely zippered there is no way to overcome the "popped" look. This would be something I wouldn't mind when wearing the jacket hiking in the forest, 'cause Gray Squirrels aren't critical of what I wear, but there's no way I would wear the jacket like this in public!
-If you plan on wearing this jacket with the zipper all the way down or 1/2 way up, be prepared to sport a 'popped' collar.

With my qualms noted, this doesn't mean it will not be a great fit/purchase for the next person!
For my needs, there are just too many options out there for less cash & a better fit.
