I did a lot of searching for a weekend bag to go to races needing a motorcycle helmet. Loved the idea of the top strap for helmets. Don't get me wrong, I still love this bag, but once a 1/2 moto helmet it strapped on, it makes the bag tip, and your helmet smacks the ground. Not cool. But I would still recomend.

I have owned this for a few months now. I've used it as a carry-on for a 5 day stay out of town. It is light weight, well constructed and the wheels worked on various terrain. The blue stands out from all the black bags and was easily found in the overhead bin, which it fit in with room to spare. The expansion option is somewhat odd, it does not create equal expansion but rather creates more towards the top of the bag. The laundry shoot was also quite small, I used it for snacks and water as it was easy to access. The compression straps inside are well made, the zipper pulls are easy to use, even with gloves on. The outer compression straps are also very useful. One of my favorite little tricks with this bag: I used the helment strap found with the retractable handles to hold my winter coat as I was in the airport. If I could, I would give it 4.5 stars, 1/2 star off for calling it a laundry shute. EC may wish to call it something else.

I purchased this in the blue at my local REI store. Overall, an quality bag-typical eagle creek quality. The color makes it stand out when at the airport. I used this for a 5 day trip, packed it with a dress suit and casual clothes. I am a medium build, short woman-just to give you a sense. The cinch straps were very helpful, the bag is quite light when empty and, even when filled to capacity, I was able to get this into the overhead bin. The only two "odd" things I note are: 1) the laundry shute is too small to be of any use as a laundry shute; 2) the water bottle holder on the side did not easily fit a 16 oz. water bottle.
A positive note: the "helmet holder" was very handy-I strapped my full length winter coat and did not have to wear it in the airport. I found that to be quite an unexpected bonus.
Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.
