Marin Pioneer Trail 29er Bike - 2013is rated5.0out of5by3.
Rated5out of5byLegendaryDfromExcellent Marin 29erI just recently got back into mountain biking after 6 years. I use it mainly for biking through trails and around the city. This bike caught my eye due to its mid-level price, looks and positive reviews that I've read. It's light weight, handles very well, smooth on the road and trails and feels like one of those $1000+ high end mountain bikes. I've taken it through asphalt and really rough dirt roads littered with rocks, which performed admirably, and I've put about 60 miles on it already without any problems. I can find nothing negative with this bike so far.

Rated5out of5byriderDudefromGreat bike! Great looks! Amazing price.I had been hanging on to an early 2000 model bike because it never broke down and had high end components. I finally decided to move to a newer model 29er and these newer components perform better than the other bike. If you aren't racing and aren't worried about the ounces, this bike is a no brainer. It is also, surprisingly, good on the road. It thought the big tires would create tons of drag on the road but, since they have a good conical shape the resistance isn't much more than my hybrid. For the price, the Marin designed frame is hard to beat and the bike looks very high end. I'd recommend this to a friend! I don't see many of these on the road so you will also have a unique ride.

Rated5out of5byaustindudefromThis bike rocks for this amount of doughI've had been hangins on to an early 2000 model bike because I maintained it and it always held up so well. I finally decided to move to a newer model 29er and although my older bike had higher end components, the components on this bike still perform better. If you aren't racing and looking at every ounce this bike is a no brainer. It also, surprisingly, is good on the road. It thought the big tires would create tons of drag. But, since they have a good conical shape the resistance was much more than my hybrid. I think I might just sell the hybrid! For the price, the Marin designed frame is hard to beat. I'd recommend this to a friend and I'm laughing at friends that spend another $500 on bikes that I can't tell much of a difference on.
