    Comments about REI Vented Sahara Outback Hat:

    This is just the hat I have been looking for. Most of my hiking is in the Colorada high country or in the desert. The hat is very light weight, has a mesh back panel and the brim is not to big. I have worn some of the other hats with big brims that you can get lost under and can impair your vision as well as hitting the top of your pack. The only downside I see is the lack of a chin strap to keep it in place when the wind blows. I guess I will see how this works out. I may have to add one myself. I have not had a chance to test this in the field yet but the time is coming soon.
