        We purchased a similar version (Trek) of these before heading to Afghanistan several years ago and they performed flawlessly in theater and I have worn them on every deployment since including Iraq. Afghanistan has some of the most brutal mountain terrain on the planet. The nights are freezing, the days can be hot as hades. A lightweight durable boot is a godsend when your kit weighs around 100 punds with ammo et al. I have bought several pairs of Solmon boots for my personal use hiking in New Mexico, Arizon, AT, and the Rockies of Canada....you simply will not find a better performing boot. I have worn them in a treestand while bowhunting in 15 degree weather and they kept me very warm, dry and comfortable. I still have the 2 pairs I wore in Afghanistan and while they are a little worn out and not good for hiking anymore they make a great boot to wear at the range. I will never own another brand of boot. This version while not as strudy as the Trek has exceedd my expectations just like every Solomon boot I have owned or been issued.

            walked into the denver flagship store not knowing what to expect from the place. the gentleman in the store took one look at my feet and brought me these bad boys. I never purchase anything on the first go-round, so I took a step back and reviewed what I could. the 4d's have great reviews but these are greatly untested. Went back in on the next weekend and purchased. I have very large (13) and wide feet. I wanted something that i can summit everything in colorado with and still be light enough so i am not lugging a 5 lb boot up and down the mountains. very very happy with the boot, the only reason i give it a 4 star is because of the slimer green accents.. not a big fan. but if that is the worst part of this boot then i am very happy indeed!!
