      I was looking for a pair of hiking shoes for day hikes. I can't wear ankle-high boots and tried on at least 6 pairs of trail shoes (keen, north face, merrell) and these were the most comfortable for my feet - though the merrell's came in a close second. I never imagined wearing hiking shoes as everyday shoes but the Solomon Eskape have become my default footwear.
