Comments about Marin Coast Trail Women's Bike - 2013:
Grey/green color is nice on the eyes. When I jumped off curbs to try it out the frame responded with a nice steady snap back to form after the landing. Took it down some rocky, ditchy trail at Riverside Park in Spokane. Climbs like a mt goat. Smooth on the pavement. Tires never felt like they would slide out. Cranks are suitably short to avoid scrapes on rocks. Handles well, responsive. Shimano trigger shifters...hmmm..my first try this technology, it seems pretty good but I'm not racing...does take a few rides to get used to how it works. My first mt bike was an Alpina Uno Univega in the 80s. Things have come far.
Service and delivery comments:
Came stock with a stem that was way too short. Standover on the small frame was perfect for me at 5'4" but the reach was way too short. The bike tech switched out the stem 3 times until I got a long enough reach. And did it with a smile and recognition of how important this fitment issue was to me. Walked out with a bike that probably fits me better than any bike I've ever had. Spokane store, you rock. Will definitely take the bike for its 6 mo/20 hr free tune up at my local store which is Olympia. Have had great service there too. REI member since 1987!
