      Comments about CygoLite MityCross 800 Xtra OSP Front Bike Light:

      I first started with a Cygolite 380 but upgraded to the 800 Xtra because of the extra lumens and battery life. Unlike the last light, this light's brightness is confusing. I've had cars in opposite lanes come to a dead stop (I assume because the light was so bight, they didn't know what it was or what to do.) I often ride in medium settings and even then, that is blinding to other cyclist and automobile drivers. The battery life and charging time is as advertised.

        Great light, but on the expensive side. I bought closeout for less and was a little happier with the value.

        Works great on a road bike, doesn't attach well to the thinner mountain bike handlebar. Also doesn't handle the jostling as it tends to start to move. None of this movement happens with the road bike.

        The cable has started to pull away from the battery exposing wires which makes me wonder about the waterproofing.

        I have had the light for 5 months, I commute 8 miles a day, rain or shine primarily in the dark. The light has great visibility. Overall a great value if on sale, or if they would throw in a helmet mount so it could be used off road.
