Comments about REI Adjustable Tarp Pole - Single:
These were purchased to use with Kelty tarps to create the infamous Scout "dining fly". These poles although bulky are not heavy unless you are a superlight backpacker. Split between three Scouts (the bottom-most portion can be slid free of the button and removed)they weigh almost nothing although you do have to live with the length. The boys love the rigidity compared to our previous poles (recycled AL tent poles that we constantly bent)and they stood up well in the wind. Well worth the price and size for the shade.

much too heavy and bulky for backpacking. Ok for car camping and going to the beach. Not for what I need.

Finally...these things are available again.
I just bought 2 of the 6ft'ers to use with my Connect Tech Garage via Kingdom 4. I haven't used them yet but my initial impressions are that they feel good, they look good, and the top section of the pole is adjustable. Allowing you to fine tune the height you need. Also the shock cord inside the pole appears to be of good quality too.
I will post pics of them in use when I set my K4 up next.
