I don't like to being cold - or feel like I have to be "wrapped" in layers to stay warm. This Smartwool Medium Weight Zip T is a solution! It's soft, warm and just as important, comfortable! Snug bit fits great. Use this a base layer for walking the dogs, hiking, sitting around the house, casual dress - it fits the bill.

Bought 2 smart wool shirts and long underwear to wear in Peru high country. Not only is this incredibly warm, it's incredibly comfy. No itching, which I was worried about and because it's breathable no sweaty smell after heavy hiking. Although it's a little pricey, I highly recommend because this is a case where you get what you paid for. I'm sure it will last a very long time!

I personally prefer natural fibers whenever practical, and I love these soft (not itchy), lightweight, warm, durable, easy-care zip necks. They run small, especially if you have hips, so order up a size.

I bought this as a recommendation from my daughter in law to take on vacation. I recently wore it under a sweatshirt and raincoat while standing in the freezing rain coaching a soccer game. I was wearing both the tops and bottoms and I didn't even feel the cold! My skin is super sensitive so I was concerned about the itchiness of the "wool" fabric, not a problem at all! Although it's pretty pricey and I'm not sure I would have bought it if it wasn't on sale, it does seem to be worth the price. Can't wait to wear to Machu Picchu in January!
