    Comments about Patagonia Back Step Shorts - Men's:

    Hemp/cotton blend fabric is very soft in the hand. These shorts have very nice tailoring and stitching. I'd consider them "dress" shorts, not shorts I would hike or garden in, at least until I wore them a while. They are light, airy, like thin linen. You can see light through them. Lightweight like silk, but nubbly, not smooth. I understand that hemp is tougher than cotton, so we'll see. The pockets are nicely hemmed, but there's no security (button, zip or flap), a ding for hiking or traveling. 5 belt loops, small patagonia logo above back pocket. Sturdy zipper, Unlike many shorts of late, button actually sewed on well!
    Have not washed, so don't know about wrinkles or shrinkage . Fit is relaxed. I wear a 34 waist. I hate tight pants, and a 34 does not fit tight. I bought size large in these and there's plenty of waistline room, yet are not baggy on me.
