I'm 5'9" 200 lbs. These are the best running shoes I've ever had. I initially wore them to hang out with friends to see how they felt. As soon as you put them on you feel the gel cushioning. They are very comfortable. Following my first run I didn't have the usual heel, arch, and shin soreness after 3 miles. The impact is extra soft. I will be buying a new pair next year.

Kayanos are my favorite line of running shoes. I have a low to mid arch and it's painful to run in a motion control shoe with a high arch. This years version feels softer than previous years. 9.5 measured bare foot, went up to a 10 with a thin running sock. Have always gone up 1/2 size with Kayanos.

Have been wearing Kayano model for over 10 years, many of these years included marathon training/racing. Asics dumped the cross-arch and off-center lacing gimmick of the Kayano 15/16/17 versions and have returned to the best running shoe on the market. I add Sole-brand ultra inserts to my other running and hiking shoes but don't need them for this shoe.

I would have to say that this a good shoe, but a bit over priced for what you get. This is the first Asics I have had and I am impressed with the performance. As a casual runner I like a shoe that can performe as a running/walking shoe and is comfertable to wear over a peoiod of time, and this shoe seems to fit the bill. The Asics do seem to feel a bit norrow (probably because I have wide feet), but they do not seem to be wearing out as quikly as other shoes I have had. After putting nearly 30 miles on them since they were purchased a few weeks ago, the shoes are only just begining to show some wearing around the impact spots. If your looking for a good recreational shoe, and aren't worried about weight, I would say that these are the way to go.
