Comments about Cannondale Synapse Alloy 5 Compact Bike - 2013:
The staff at REI Folsom are awesome to work with, I live in an area in the Sierra Foothills that have some tough climbs, 10-14 percent and a long way up, they were able to change the rear gear ratio by adding a Shimano SLX Rear Derailleur and placing a 11-36 Cassette, this coupled with the compact 50-34 Crank in the front makes those long climbs easier and adds more fun riding, at 60 years old I don't need to suffer, but enjoy getting on the bike everyday, with this bike there is nothing I can't climb.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
