The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
hiked the AT for about a month with this pack and within the first week the zippers started to snag. After another 2 weeks the zippers stopped closing all together so i had to cram everything in another pocked or risk loosing all my items. This is the second REI pack that has done this to me so i have switched over to another brand.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
I wanted something with more room than my previous pack so this fit the bill. Nice price and good features. I'm going to be taking it on a few backpack trips over the summer and I expect it to serve me well. You will need a bunch of stuff sacks with this pack.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
I did extensive research before buying this pack. In my opinion, it is the best pack for the money. Lots of compartments and the zippers are great. I am a father of two scouts and wanted to buy one pack that would meet all my needs as my sons work towards Eagle; I am confident this pack will last the journey. My only negative on this is that there should be more color options... but my guess is that will come soon.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
I recently took this pack on a 4 day backpacking trip in Sequoia National Forrest and it really performed well. The outside pockets and gear loops were great for storing wet sandles and air drying a towel after river crossings. The pack expanded and cinched well to keep the pack evenly loaded. No complaints and a pretty good price!

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
10 miler with one night on the trail was very comfortable. Lots of room versus a 50 L youth pack that I had prior.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
The pack is well built and it is very adjustable. I like the large hip belt pockets. They are actually big enough to carry more that two gummy bears at a time. Which is nice. The colors are nice too I bought the orange one. I like the water resistant zippers they seem to work well and the sleeping bag compartment is nice to have as well. The pack doesn't fatigue the heck out of your back and can easily shift the weight from shoulders to hips with the pull of a couple straps. I don't have much experience with other packs but I can't see them being much more comfortable than this.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
This is the best pack I have ever owned. It is reasonably priced and not too heavy for all of the features it packs. This is one of the few packs I own that doest require some compromise of essential features for me. It has everything, hip pockets that are expansive, excellent padding, tie-on or clip-on points, etc. The water bottle "locking" pockets are not only durable and reliable, but they are big enough and felxible enough to hold a other gear such as my jetboil stove. I admit that I was a little nervous about the light and somewhat flexing frame, but after using this on the john muir trail (3 weeks out, having to carry 40 pounds + at one resupply point), it really pulled through and kept me comfortable with the weight i was hauling.
Compared to the gregory boltoro I much prefer this pack. I have a slender build and the baltoro, along with other firmer padded packs tend to cause bruises on my hip bones after a few days in the wilderness. Not with the cresttrail!

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
This is a very well designed and well built pack. I found it very comfortable with a 45+ pound load. Althought I have used it only once, the durability is obvious and it was clearly designed by someone with a lot of pack expereince. It is easy to pack and easy to get to everything. Only problem is the color choices! Maybe something more neutral or that would blend with the habitat? Please?

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
I bought this to replace my old mountain hardwear bacpack, and compared to that thing this is a cadillac! It rides well and stays up on my hips even through rough parts of the trail. the hipbelt pivot feature works great to comform to your body as you move, and the pack does not seem to "sway" with you when you move. I used to strap my tent and sleeping bag on the exterior of the bag, but I can now stash them inside while still having ample room. The only drawback to this bag is that the sleeping bag compartment is a little small. I have a 20 degree mummy bag in reg. length, and I really have to compress it in order to get it in the bag. Asside from that, this pack has all the features that you would expect in any backpack, and manages to come in under alot of others bags in price.

Comments about REI Crestrail 70 Pack:
After extensive reserach I bought this pack for a hiking trip on the AT. 47 miles 4 days 3 nights. With equipment I weighed out at 29lbs day one. This pack was SUPER comfortable, highly adjustable. Everything was built for ease of access and I had plenty of room and some to spare with equipment on hand. Plenty of straps and extra places to clip items. For the money you can't beat it!! I would put it up against ALL of the other brands.
Well done REI!!
