Comments about REI Rainwall Rain Jacket - Men's:
After having owned several different rain jackets, I can say that this is by far the best one. The seams held up good and kept me totally dry on a recent hike where it rained buckets. my only gripe, and a small one at that, is that the hood bib doesn't want to cover my hat. There is an elastic draw lip for just this purpose, but mine doesn't want to stay on for some reason. Otherwise it is a superb jacket.

Comments about REI Rainwall Rain Jacket - Men's:
The Rainwall fits my needs for a versatile lightweight jacket that works on and off the bike. This shell's removable hood helps it transition from hiking to cycling. The underarm vents, uncommon in many cycling jackets are a plus.

Comments about REI Rainwall Rain Jacket - Men's:
This is a great jacket; not quite a home run though. I was convinced to purchase this from an REI staff member over a comparable jacket and I am pleased. It packs up very small into it's own hood (at least that's how I do it) a little smaller than a pringles can. I can shove it into my backpack on day or multiday hikes without a second thought to weight or volume. It is very light and I wear it as a early spring/fall jacket and in wet/rainy weather otherwise. It looks good enough to sport around the office or anywhere else. It doesn't have any insulation, however. Don't expect this to really keep you warm. It's just a waterproof shell that looks sharp.
My only gripe is that the cuffs at the end of the sleeves are not waterproof. Water will roll off them at first but they quickly absorb whatever is left over. The cuffs don't have the same lining as the rest of the jacket so I'm curious why REI did this. I guess it wouldn't matter during a rainstorm in the mountains but around town it's kind of a pain to have cold, damp cuffs.
Otherwise, great jacket. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a lightweight outer shell.
