REI Rainwall Rain Jacket - Men's is rated 4.25 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight outer layer This is a great jacket; not quite a home run though. I was convinced to purchase this from an REI staff member over a comparable jacket and I am pleased. It packs up very small into it's own hood (at least that's how I do it) a little smaller than a pringles can. I can shove it into my backpack on day or multiday hikes without a second thought to weight or volume. It is very light and I wear it as a early spring/fall jacket and in wet/rainy weather otherwise. It looks good enough to sport around the office or anywhere else. It doesn't have any insulation, however. Don't expect this to really keep you warm. It's just a waterproof shell that looks sharp. My only gripe is that the cuffs at the end of the sleeves are not waterproof. Water will roll off them at first but they quickly absorb whatever is left over. The cuffs don't have the same lining as the rest of the jacket so I'm curious why REI did this. I guess it wouldn't matter during a rainstorm in the mountains but around town it's kind of a pain to have cold, damp cuffs. Otherwise, great jacket. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a lightweight outer shell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Used the jacket to hike in the Anazasi Ruins of Utah. Breathes very well, no issues. You must buy special soap to wash it in to retain waterproof.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice packable jacket, unfortunate zipper I use this for rainy days cycling to work. The jacket does what it's supposed to do. It doesn't breathe, but it never said it would. It is indeed a 'rain wall'. The jacket is nice and light and when folded up takes up little space. However, there is an inner pocket on the left hand side and if you don't pay proper attention when you zip it up it will snag, every time (see images). This is annoying and I'm guessing it will chew the pocket at some stage. The easy solution is for REI to stop the pocket 10 mm short of the zipper or sew it down. Perhaps in a newer version. With a good zipper, I would say it's a very good rain jacket. In it's curren form, only a good jacket with a very delicate zipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and well designed Ihe fit is great and all of the features were easy to operate (arm pit zippers, various pockets, removable hood, velcro wrist cinch and tightening bungees for the hood and waist). In addition, it looks nice and fits my frame nice (I'm 5'11" 160 lbs). I had a chance to test it out on a multi-day hike in Baxter State Park, Maine. It handled heavy rain with no issues and kept me warm in the 50+ MPH wind gusts of Baxter Peak. So far it seems very durable and I can't stop wearing it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Rain Jacket I've Ever Owned I bought this jacket with a 10 day trip to Washington, US/B.C. Canada planned. This jacket put all my other waterproof jackets to shame. Never felt a drop! The colors are great and it's very durable. I have snagged this jacket branches and it didn't scratch or rip. This jacket does get warm when moving around a lot but it was never uncomfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Last Years model....Great Deal I grabbed this for a 14er climb We encountered gusty winds, rain, and freezing rain 3/4 from the top and again on the way back down This jacket was great. With only a long sleeved running shirt underneath, it did a fantastic job cutting the wind, rain, and freezing rain. I couldn't have been happier. The armpit zippers are the feature I like the most. The fabric collar is a nice comfortable touch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! This is a great jacket for the price. The only problem with the sizing really isn't the jacket's fault. I am 5'9" 160 lbs male and was just in between the small & medium so I went went the medium which was a bit big. If I wasn't planning on wearing layers under the jacket small would have been perfect. Great amount of pockets and stylish enough to wear beyond your recreational activities.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket for the Pacific NW!!! Living in the Pacific NW, I needed a good rain-jacket. I owned a Marmot Aegis a couple years that worked great, but the seams of the plastic liner started ripping after owning 6 months. I wanted a jacket that was similar in build, but not as expensive. I tried this REI jacket on and it fit great. It had the same features as the Marmot Aegis like the pit zips. This jacket does the job! If you plan on layering, you might want to go a size up. The only down side of this jacket is that it's advertised that it folds into its own pocket, but I haven't figured that part out. Otherwise, I'd probably give this jacket 5 stars.
