I had to return the coat. I bought an extra large for extra room. The top fit great but the hips were not designed with woman's body shape in mind.

I can't speak to how waterproof this jacket is, because I returned it due to fit. I'm long and lean (5'8" and 125 lbs) and the sleeves on the size small were too short for my taste, and the medium would have been too big in the body of the jacket. I also have a big head and the hood seemed like it wasn't going to be quite long enough in the front to block water from my face. I ended up trading it for a different brand. But for others with different body types, the Marmot Precip might be a great jacket.
