My review is about urban adventure. I needed a warm jacket for: winter trips to Willow Springs Raceway (can dip into the 10s and 20s overnight); a warm layer under a leather jacket for my morning scooter commute when temps are in the 40s; and just a comfortable jacket for bumming around San Diego on cooler mornings or evenings. This jacket meets those needs. It packs away small, so it works great as a layer that can be shed as it warms up.
Other great touches: sleeves that allow full arm motion without pulling the jacket up my waist (good for the commute or activity); sleeves long enough not to pull away from the wrist with arm movement; elastic wrists that keep out the cold without being uncomfortable.
Clearly a product of a good testing. Bought online clearance with the extra REI discount, a super-duper bargain.

If it's cold outside, this is a fantastic option. Keeps you nice and toasty warm.
Compact and is excellent as a base layer for extreme cold temperatures.
I have even used this jacket bike riding in below freezing single digit temperatures and was roasting.
Very compactible, lightweight, versatile. My favorite thing to grab when it's cold outside.

I recently discovered down jackets after mainly using shells, so when this went to closeout pricing I went for it. I love the warmth to weight ratio, and how small it compresses, it'll definitely save space and weight when traveling. It's a bit on the bulky side when worn under one of my shells, but I still have good range of movement.
I mainly wear it casually on commutes to work or hanging out with friends, so I can't speak to it's performance in extreme weather or highly active scenarios. However, as it has a pretty conservative look and the material has more of a matte finish than others I looked at, it's replaced all my other winter coats.
I do find myself sometimes wishing for more bells and whistles such as a chest pocket or hood, and it could be slightly longer (though I think I just have a long torso), but for the price, fit, and under the radar looks, I'm extremely happy with it

I've had this for a few weeks now, and this is great for cold windy walks. It's incredibly lightweight, feels so delicate/fragile; but once you have it on and wear it for a while, you realize it can take almost anything. Haven't used it in misty weather but I advise having a shell for wet weather days. I'm not saying it's for blizzards, but I'd definitely consider using it as a mid-layer. my only complaint is not enough pockets - I'd like having a chest pocket but for some reason they didn't add it (the half-zip zeus does).
