Rated5out of5byMom of 2fromWonderful FitThe fit was comfortable. Size 2 fit well, and length was good (I am 5'3"). Wore them on a cool day with a long sleeve and jacket for a very light hike. Glad I bought them.

Rated5out of5bytforresterfromPerfect for hiking and everydayI bought these for hiking in hot humid weather in areas abounding in mosquitos. They're so comfortable and leightweight they've become my everyday pants at work (I work in the field a lot) and also for hiking. The length is perfect for me being 5'3". I've found the REI petite pant options to be the only short leg pants that actually don't need further hemming.

Rated4out of5byLinseyfromNice, but shortSo I originally bought these pants for hiking and climbing in warmer weather. I really wanted something light weight and breathable, so I would have insect and sun protection in the heat, as well as the option to roll the pants up if desired (vs. zip offs). These were almost (see below) perfect, and I find them so comfortable and functional that they have become some of my favorite everyday pants.
I only have two real issues with these:
1. They feel really short for not being petite. I am only 5' 5" and these hover above my lower shoes while standing, and the ankles ride WAY up when I sit down. Since I originally bought the pants for hiking, the shortness is not much of an issue when matched with my med-high cut hiking boots. For everyday use, I just turn the pants into capris to avoid the awkward shortness.
2. The pants feel really tight in the hip/crotch area, yet they are still baggy enough around my waist that I need to use the drawstring; even with the drawstring the pants can still get a little lower than I would like. I knew this when I bought the pants, but for future reference it would be nice if pants (or just hips/crotch/waist) were more stretchy to give me a better range of motion when climbing. I feel like this is a sizing issue with REI in general- for some reason REI assumes athletic women only have an 8.5" difference between their waist and hips while most other brands assume a 10" difference (I personally have a 12" difference, so have come to accept some difficulty).

Rated5out of5byHiker After 50fromGreat FitGreat fit, and suprisingly acceptable for a 17 year old teenage girl that is very picky about fit and fashion . . . Just a tad bit short for a 5'6" build.
