I bought this looking for a skirt one could actually wear for wilderness backpacking, not for looking pretty around the campfire or taking the kids to soccer practice. This skirt is exactly what I wanted and more. Made of the same lightweight, breathable, quick-dry fabric they make your shorts out of, plenty of room for leg movement when climbing uphill, and the side elastic pulls will hike it up to your thighs and keep it there in case of incidental stream crossing or mountain summiting. You can tell this was designed by an actual woman who actually does stuff. I imagine it would also look pretty around the campfire or taking the kids to soccer practice.
