This product showed a lot of promise. I was excited to use it to charge my cellphone and other electronic equipment. Using the usb port on the charger you can plug it into almost any electronic device that has a mini-usb input. The "cells" are quite simple. Supposedly, you get a fully charged battery when you get the minipak. For redundancy, I purchased a separate cell for about $12.00. Unfortunately, the batteries wore off after about 15 minutes of light charging. I really didn't put it through its paces. I just plugged it into the supplied usb light and attempted to charge my cellphone. The product claims that you can charge your phone about 2 times before needing a refill (of which the "hydrofill" is sold separately to the tune of about $249.00). Not only did the thing putter out shortly, I was disappointed to find out that neither battery charged anything.

In their defense, it is pretty easy to use. Simply screw the battery into the minipak and wait until the blue light goes on before plugging it into anything. A small puff of air goes off and you're ready to go. Unfortunately, neither the light nor the air went out the second time around.

So I purchased to the hydrofill and attempted to refill the hydrogen. Both batteries seemed to refill fine. However, now they no longer charge at all.

I only can surmise that the build quality is poor since the product cannot do what it's supposed to do in the first place ... that is hold a charge.

Very disappointed.

Just got this product from REI store in Soho NY today, perfect time huge storm hitting rihgt now. Got the unit plugged in and working with USB light (included) plugged in and on! When you first put in the cartridge it makes a kind of puff sound, and then once more, so don't be startled, I was a little at first, but then realized after a few times, this happens each time. The blue light will start to flash and continue to flash until you plug in something, and then it will go sready blue. LOVE this device so far.
