Whether you're just getting into backcountry skiing or replacing old equipment, the Backcountry Access Essentials package supplies you with 3 pieces of required gear: a transceiver, shovel and probe.

  • Package includes a Tracker DTS™ avalanche transceiver, a B-1 EXT shovel and a 240cm probe
  • Simple-to-use Tracker DTS transceiver has a real-time digital display that shows direction and distance to the victim with bright red LEDs
  • Included holster harness system allows the unit to be easily removed; lanyard ensures unit won't be lost
  • Operates on 457 kHz frequency and is fully compatible with other 457 kHz units; operates on 3 AAA batteries (included)
  • B-1 EXT shovel has an extendable handle that brings the overall length to 28.75 in. for fast and efficient digging
  • Oval-shaped tube provides good prying strength and is comfortable to hold with gloves on
  • Shovel weighs only 595g (1 lb. 5 oz.) and fits in most ski packs
  • 240cm (7 ft. 10 in.) probe collapses down to 45.75cm (18 in.) for simple storage in your backpack; probe weighs only 255g (9 oz.)
  • Probe assembles quickly to save precious seconds while searching for a victim
