Rated4out of5bymharrigfromSolid TarpI bought this to use as a single person shelter while backpacking. I love to test my gear and recently we had a snow/ice storm which allowed me to set up the tarp and sleep outside while still in controlled conditions (access to house). We got over 6 inches of snow and 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice overnight and I slept fine. No tearing or challenges with the weight of the snow/ice on the tarp. I did have to hit the sides several times during the night to try to keep the buildup to a minimum. I think that would be reasonable for any tarp in a snow/ice storm. It held up really well.
This isn't the lightest tarp out there, but for the price it's great.

Rated4out of5bymustangame2fromGreat Scout TarpBought four of these tarps for my son's scout troop. They are light enough for a scout patrol to carry (one scout with the tarp, a second with two aluminum poles, a third with stakes + 550 cord) on a backpacking trip and provide sun/rain cover while cooking, etc. Buying so many at one time stung the wallet a little, but I haven't found any tarps this quality at this price point (most are over $100).

Rated2out of5bymsperosfromTearing after the first weekend of useAfter the first use it started to tear at a grommet. I will think twice before dropping this amount on a tarp/fly again
