This jacket would be the bomb if I only wanted a rain shell and that's it. My fault, I misunderstood what I was buying. I was looking for a lightweight jacket yes, but something with a liner at least.
With that said, I want to explain some of the deets that you may not know unless you see it in person, and how awesome this jacket is, IF you are searching for that perfect rain shell.
The fabic is awesome, it's very waterproof, and it does have stretch to it, so if you do want to layer some fleece under for warmth, you can do that reachy thing you do and not feel constricted. I am very very picky when it comes to hoods on jackets, and hoodies. I have long thick hair and I'm usually wearing it in a ponytail, and nothing sucks more than having a pony in, and you can't get your hood up far enough to come around your face and forhead. This in not the case here. This hood is SO big, that if I didn't have a pony up, it would come too far over my face. But in a downpour, I'm sure you'll want that. Also you can see in the photo that there is a brim. It is actually hard and has some form to it like a bill of a hat sort of, and will keep it's shape over your forhead. I also really likes how the hood rolls up and can be held down with velcro strap. I liked the placement of the upper arm pocket as well. Looks good too. The rear of the jacket is longer than the front so it covers your bum a bit. It is super lightweight and can be packed very small for you backpackers :o)
All in all this is the perfect little raincoat, but I returned it for something with a little more to it. :o)
