Comments about Mountain Hardwear Downtown Down Jacket - Girls' - 2011 Closeout:
I purchased these for both of my little girls to keep them warm during our Alaskan cold spells, 0F to 20F degrees. These are definitely good down jackets and do a good job keeping the girls warm when skiing or just playing outside. These coats are definitely a bit warm if it's around 30F depending on your acclimation, wind chill, and activity.
The coat fabric is typical of nylon, quilted, down jackets. It's not rugged and could be prone to damage if you're rough on equipment. It would make an excellent layer under a shell if you need durability or better wind protection. The jacket has a fleece fabric inside the body of the jacket, not the sleeves. It is very soft and girls appreciate it.
