Firstly, as far as design goes, they are about as good as it gets for their main purpose: racking cams. They don't take up much space on your gear loops, weigh almost nothing, and the hood wire is a nice touch. I didn't start using colored racking biners until recently, and I was surprised at how much more convenient it can be, especially when climbing at my limit. Bonus: they are half the price of WC heliums.

Strangely, gate strengths vary to a ridiculous level, just as the other reviewed noted. A few are nice and light, and some absurdly heavy. Poor quality control on the gates for sure. It's only getting one star off for it, as they are still at least as good as anything else out there, even with the inconsistency.

Bought these recently and just got out with them. I love the Hoodwires and was hopeful for the same performance from the lighter Oz, which I also like. Unfortunatly 2 out of the six were really difficult to open. 2 things a carabiner really needs to do well open and close. The wire gate is just to tight and it is difficul to get a 9.8mm cord through. I am super bumbed to spend alot on 6 and only get four that work properly. 4 do work well and I will eventually replace my rack with them. Don't buy online, try them out in a store for sure.
